Who we are

Boat Ramp US is operated by Space Bits, S.L., a company registered in Spain (NIF ESB64776271, Crta. de Vic 96 1-1, 08241 Manresa, Barcelona, Spain). For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Space Bits, S.L. is the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at [email protected].

What information we collect

Information you provide directly. When you submit a new ramp, report a correction, or contact us, we collect what you choose to enter, which may include:

  • Your email address, if you provide one (used only to follow up on your submission)
  • Any name, comment, or description text you enter
  • Photos you upload
  • The IP address your submission came from, recorded automatically for abuse prevention

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our server and hosting provider log basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting purposes.

How we use this information

  • To review, verify, and publish ramp submissions and corrections
  • To respond to you if you've asked a question or reported an issue
  • To detect and prevent spam or abusive submissions
  • To maintain the security and proper functioning of the site

Cookies and advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. Depending on your location and settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

You can learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at Google's Partner Sites policy, and manage your ad personalization settings at Google Ad Settings.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads or setting non-essential cookies, through the consent banner shown when you first visit. You can change your choice at any time through that banner.

Other third-party services embedded on this site

  • OpenStreetMap - our interactive maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap contributors. Loading a map may send your IP address to OpenStreetMap's tile servers, subject to their own privacy practices.
  • Social sharing buttons (Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp) - these link out to those services when clicked; we do not embed their tracking widgets, but the destination site's own privacy policy applies once you click through.

Amazon Associates disclosure

Boat Ramp US is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. Some product links on this site are affiliate links - if you click one and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not affect which products we mention or how we describe them.

Data about boat ramps themselves

The ramp listings on this site (name, location, fee, hours, amenities, etc.) come from public federal and state agency datasets - see our Data Sources page for details. This is open government data, not personal information about you, and is not covered by this privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We retain submission and correction records for as long as needed to review them and maintain an accurate history of changes to our listings. You can ask us to delete personal information you've submitted (such as your email address) at any time - see "Your rights" below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Object to or restrict certain uses of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you're in the European Union, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you're a California resident, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of information for advertising purposes through the same Google Ad Settings link above.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
